The week of June 20th

Good morning! Please see below for important announcements about the upcoming weeks and pictures from our learning activities.

- Play Day is Thursday. Please dress for varied weather and bring a water bottle. (You can come with sunscreen on but we won’t be helping apply it here.)

- On Play Day we are providing Freezies. Parents that do not want their child to have one must email Mrs. Harris or Ms. Irvine. These parents can send an alternative treat for their child to enjoy that day.

- The Play Day theme this year is superheros! Feel free to dress up.

- We have been sending home old student work all week. On Friday, students are bringing home some more recent work as well as their homestead projects. Please be sure to check their backpacks and empty their blue folders.

In English Language Arts students finished off their autobiography and then practiced their presentation skills by sharing their Google Slides with their peers. They also started to script a group story that they will perform next week!

Students have been exploring perspective. We read several books and discussed how different perspectives change a story. We also did an art project where we tried to add depth to our photos.

In social studies students finished off their homestead projects and then we did a gallery walk to admire, celebrate and learn from our peers in Mrs.Sloane and Mrs.Dang's class. We also had many powerful discussions around for National Indigenous Peoples Day.

In math class students have been working on patterning and sequences. We even made some outside!Additionally we have started talking about tessellations and played an algebra math game called Salute! We also looked at how to use a balance scale to represent equations.

In art students completed a pointalism project and they drew to the music with Mrs. White!

We still have school next week! It is going to be a wonderful last week of school. Please let the office know if your student is not here.
