It was so nice to see all the students today after a long weekend. We started off our day with morning maker. Students have been learning about area in math and using their skills to plan their dream house. In maker we recreated our dream house floor plans out of loose parts!
In math students practiced their basic multiplication and division facts, completed a math check in, and played some math games.
During word work, students continued to expand their vocabulary through using a thesaurus to find synonyms for commonly used words.
In literacy/writing students applied all the skills they have learned this term through a free write activity where they get to write about a topic of their choice.
During social studies students started a see, think, wonder chart when learning about the Boreallepelta
We also had gym and music with the wonderful Ms. White and the amazing Mr. Newton!
Reminders:
- please dress for the weather!
- please practice basic facts at home as our next big math unit will be on dividing 3 digit numbers (246 / 2)
