This is what we got up to in the last while!
The students love looking at themselves in P.E. for Freedom Friday! Have a look at all of the activities.
Science
Students are investigating all about plants in out world. They learned about the parts and their functions, their importance, as well as watched them grow.
Math
This week we continued practicing our addition, subtraction, multiplication and division skills with numbers up to 10 000. Students did a problem solving SWYK (Show What You Know) to demonstrate their understanding and applications of skills.
Active Indoor Cooperative Challenges
Check out these fun "Make the Shape" body break game that we played.
Literacy
In reading, students are learning about how to CONNECT with the text being read, in order to deepen their comprehension and THINKING about the text and the world.
Students are working to:
Connect to self through text
Connect text to text by remembering and comparing two similar texts
Connect text to the world by answering, "Why is this an important idea in the world?"
Students are also working diligently on writing meaning poetry to express their thoughts and feelings about meaning topics to them.
Social Studies
Students are now learning about the various people who live in Alberta and who have moved here. This is a long history that begins and is leading towards the Fur Trade.
Take care!
Mrs Harris and Ms. Irvine
