In math students have been learning about fractions and decimals. Students are working on understanding equivalent fractions and reducing fractions to their simplest form. In writing students have been working hard on a poetry unit! So far we have been talking about how to write free verse and verse poems (ask your student what this means)!

Other:
This week was our last week for crochet club. In P.E students started a new unit this week called drum fit! It was so fun. Students worked on being active in a new why by drumming out rhythms. In art this week students finished their cursive critters. In this activity they were tasked with writing their name in cursive handwriting. Then, they worked on turning their name into a bug! Check out their creative critters below. Lastly, they explored using figurative language in poetry by creating an alliteration poem to describe their bug.
