Reminders and important information:
We had a busy week! This week was cultural appreciation week, students engaged in lots of thoughtful discussions and activities around cultural appreciation. Reminder that Monday is our field trip to Telus Spark. The fee for the trip needs to be payed online via powerschool. Please send your child with a good lunch, snacks, jacket and a water bottle on Monday. We will be leaving promptly, so please ensure your child is on time.
ELAL: In writing, students continued working on their procedural writing and convention skills. Additionally, students completed a school wide writing prompt where they applied all the different writing skills they have learned this year! Ask your student what they wrote about. We also played literacy games
Math: In math we are doing a measurement / geometry unit. Check out all the things we are learning about below! Additionally, I have attached two links for you to review with your student. Students also started exploring Algebra in our morning math warm ups.

They have also chosen a person who helped shape Alberta to complete an independent research project on. They are practicing skimming and scanning text for key information, taking jot notes in their own words, and citing sources. In science students began to build their background knowledge for our lights and shadows field trip on Monday!
Art / P.E: Students sketched 3D shapes, paying close attention to how light sources can create shadows. In P.E we moved into a pickle ball unit!!!
